Bio

Welcome! I’m River. I am a yoga teacher and chiropractor; and I am compelled to guide a practice that celebrates community and autonomy. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2017, and earned my Level 1 certification in Forrest Yoga in 2022. As of 2023, I have been teaching yin yoga, drawing from all of my previous experience in addition to my career as a chiropractor. I love incorporating the best of these many styles when I teach, offering a practice that is unique, compassionate, and truly inviting.

I want to help you build awareness within, and explore movement that works for your body; fostering both physical integrity and mental resilience. Whether you’re new to yoga, searching for deeper connection, healing an injury, hoping to advance your practice, navigating pregnancy, or looking for a way to rest and ease some aches—your full self will be supported. I’d be honored to guide you in discovering movement that heals, inside and out.

You can expect classes that blend play, humanity, and intention; I’ll be laughing with you through new poses and guiding you into much needed stillness. There are no right or wrong ways, instead, I hope to help you find your own way. I am especially passionate about holding yogic space for queer and trans folks, and participate in the cycle of reciprocity for my community.

*I offer classes and workshops, including Sound Baths, at Heart Fire Yoga 442 Connecticut St, Buffalo, NY 14213, as well as at Carriage House Collective 1134 Delaware Ave, Buffalo NY 14209, the site of my chiropractic office.
