Curious about Forrest Yoga? Join Abby for a 2-Hour practice to delve deeper into this fiery style of yoga. This workshop will focus on the Forrest Yoga methodology behind hip opening- how to utilize the foundational principles of Forrest Yoga to deliberately, safely, and joyously move into the hips. As the most stable & deepest joint in the body, the hips can hold lots of tension and gripping – we’ll learn how to free up & create spaciousness in the hip joint using Forrest principles.
Expect to explore familiar shapes like figure four and pigeon, and some deeper openers like lotus, foot-behind-the-head (eka pada sirsasana), and some playful arm balances. Also, Abby will utilize her background as a massage therapist to share some knowledge of anatomy – what major muscles & muscle groups we’ll be working on opening & strengthening.
Bring yourself and a willingness to dive into deep opening in the physical and energetic body. This class is for practitioners familiar with yoga – experience in Forrest is recommended but not necessary!
