Forrest Yoga and Emotions – A Workshop with Sandra Robinson
Sunday, 10AM to 4PM
November 27, 2016
Forrest Yoga teaches us to track feelings and sensations through our bodies to live a more full and embodied life. Forrest Yoga Guradian and Body Psychotherapist Sandra Robinson is returning to Norwich (yay!) to teach us how to connect to our emotions and allow to be with what is.
10 -13:00 Forrest Yoga and Emotions: Explore your upper back, chest and shoulders
In Yoga the importance is placed on being present and with what is arising. In other words, the intention is to come to a place of peace where one can deeply accept the current situation. True healing and change can only come out of this state of being in the here and now. Often one tends to look for solutions, interpretations and advice too quickly instead of fully exploring and being with what is, thereby forgoing layers of understanding and healing.
This workshop uses a Forrest Yoga backbend sequence to dive into the mysteries of the upper back, chest and shoulders enabling the practitioner to feel more fully into those areas – letting images, sensations, feelings, memories and colours simply be there. Through deep sensing of those areas change naturally occurs.
13.00-14.00 Lunch
14.00 Forrest Yoga and Emotions: Learning to “be with”
This 2-hour afternoon workshop will start with some light asana and moves into exercises, including partner exercises, to experience what it means to be with oneself and others. Instead of fixing one’s own issues and somebody else’s, emphasis is placed on holding space for oneself and others in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. Feelings are regarded neither as negative or positive, but simply as energies that can move into different forms and that can bring vitality into the body.
